Highlands High School football player Michael Dunn will sign a letter of intent to further his academic and athletic career at Butler University. The signing will be held at 3pm on Friday, February 23, 2018, in the Media Center at Highlands High School.

Michael is a three-year letterman and was voted team captain his senior season.  As a junior, he won Mr. Highlands Football, an award given to the player that demonstrates all the qualities of what it truly means to be a Highlands football player. His other football awards include 2016 and 2017 NKFCA Class 4A/5A First Team, 2016 and 2017 NKAC All Conference Team, and 2016 and 2017 NKFCA All NKY Second Team.  Michael was also the 2017 Regional Shotput Champion and placed 8th at the State Track and Field Championships.  He is a member of National Honor Society, has been on Super Honor Roll for three years, with straight A’s and perfect attendance his junior year.

“Michael Dunn is not only one of the best football players I have ever coached, but one of the best people I have ever met. Whether he is on the field, in the classroom, or anywhere else in life, he approaches every task before him with incredible tenacity and focus.  Michael makes everyone around him better, including me.  He is a leader in every sense of the word,” said Brian Weinrich, Highlands High School football coach.

“Highlands High School and the Fort Thomas community are extremely blessed to have been influenced by Michael Dunn.  We are very proud of Michael and cannot wait to see the amazing things he will continue to accomplish at Butler University.  He will leave a lasting impact there, as he always does.”
