Time to Start Preparing for our Incoming 6th Graders for 2018-2019

Highlands Middle School

Dear 5th Grade Parent/Guardian,

We are very excited to announce it is time to begin planning for your child’s 2018-2019 school year. The transition process to middle school may cause a variety of emotional responses, from worry to excitement. Regardless, we understand the emotions associated with such a transition and the importance of keeping you informed of the process. We want your child to be excited and for you to approach the transition to HMS with the knowledge and awareness that we are in this together and want to have an open line of communication.

Our first step in the transition process will be our 5th to 6th Orientation meeting for Parents ONLY.

• Parent Only Orientation Meeting – March 6, 2018 from 6:30 to 8:00pm at Highlands Middle School. This meeting will include detailed information about the middle school curriculum, sixth grade expectations and individualized information regarding scheduling for your child. Due to space issues we ask you leave students at home for this event.

The Fort Thomas Independent School System continues to maintain our status of Excellence because of parental involvement and support. We look forward to working with you in the future and seeing you at our first adventure together on Tuesday, March 6, 2018!
