New Kentucky Immunization Regulations

Kentucky Department of Public Health has recently made changes to immunization requirements for school attendance.

  • Effective July 1, 2018 ALL students in kindergarten through twelfth grade must show proof of having received two doses of Hepatitis A vaccine to attend school.
  • Students aged 16 years or older must show proof of having received two doses of Meningococcal ACWY vaccine (MenACWY) to attend school.   If the first dose of MenACWY was received at age sixteen (16) years or older, the second dose is not required for school entry.
  • All students with a religious exempt form on file will also need to submit an updated version, as it has changed.  This form is to be filled out by the parent/guardian and must be notarized before submitting it to school.

We are notifying you of these changes now so that you can plan accordingly.  A new valid Kentucky Immunization Certificate will need to be submitted to your child’s school prior to the start of the 2018-2019 school year.
