Athletes to sign letter of intent

HIGHLANDS SWIMMER TO SIGN LETTER OF INTENT

             

What:

 

Highlands High School senior swimmer Greyson Pendery will sign a letter of intent to continue his swimming career for the Centre College Cougars, a member of the Southern Athletic Association. The signing will be held at 3pm on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, in the Media Center at Highlands High School.

 

Pendery helped lead the Bluebirds to six straight Region 7 combined team championships and two boys team Region 7 runner-up finishes.  A very talented student-athlete, Pendery is a five-time KHSAA state qualifier and has placed in the top 16 at the state meet the past three years.  Pendery also excels in the classroom and was recently named a NISCA High School Academic All-American.

 

For the past seven years, he has been coached at Highlands by Amanda Johnson.  Pendery also competes for the Powel Crosley Tigersharks, where he is coached by John Janszen.

HIGHLANDS TENNIS PLAYERS TO SIGN LETTER OF INTENT

             

What:

 

Highlands High School tennis players Jana and Jenna Riffe will each sign letters of intent to play tennis at Thomas More College.  The signings will be held at 3pm on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, in the Media Center at Highlands High School.

 

Jana and Jenna have been involved with Highlands tennis since the 8th grade with both working up to varsity their sophomore year.  They are this year’s team co-captains and have been regularly playing 1st and 2nd doubles in the lineup this spring.

 

“Jana and Jenna have amazing team spirit and as co-captains work hard to create a positive atmosphere within the team at matches and practices.  They have been a pleasure to coach and I know they will be real assets to the Thomas More tennis team,” said Kris Laskey, Highlands High School tennis coach.
