Email Migration Information

The email migration will start March 1, at 4:30pm and will continue into the weekend.  Email may return on Friday or Saturday, but be prepared to be without email until Monday, March 5.

 

Pre-Migration, now through March 1

Steps to take before 4pm on Thursday, March 1

  • SIGN-OUT of all email, Office applications and any apps linked to your "@fortthomas.kyschools.us" account
    • See link on right side for helpful information about signing out of applications. 
  • After 4:30pm on March 1, you can begin clearing cache in all browsers. 
    • See link on right side for steps on how to clear browser cache.

March 2, 3pm WebMail should be available for everyone now. Some items may take over 72 hours to completely migrate so please be patient! You will have to clear your browser cache to access WebMail. Instructions for clearing browser cache are listed on a separate page (see link at the right). Instructions for reconnecting to an Outlook email client for faculty and staff will be posted in the Post Migration section over the weekend. Outlook client may not work until Monday. You may also reattach email to mobile devices using instructions in the link on the right. 

 

March 3, 9pm - OneDrive migration update - Fort Thomas has 2,982 users whose OneDrive content is being migrated for a total of 1TB of data. As of 9pm on March 3, the OneDrive migration is In Progress

 

March 4, 7:45pm - OneDrive migration update - Fort Thomas has 2,982 users whose OneDrive content is being migrated for a total of 1TB of data. As of 7:45pm on March 4, the OneDrive content is Migrating

 

Post Migration - Steps for accessing email again will be listed here

  • Students can use link on the right side to watch video that shows steps to manually migrate content from their "old" mailbox to the "new" mailbox. 
  • Teachers can use links on the right side to reconfigure either Outlook for Windows or Outlook for Mac. 
  • Instructions for how to reconfigure mobile apps can be found in the link on the right.
  • Instructions for how to reconnect the OneDrive client can be found in the link on the the right. These instructions are for Windows but can be adapted for Mac.
