Cassidy,Before I researched pharmaceutical development, I also thought that pharmacists were the ones that did most of the work and so I had planned to go into pharmacy, but was not very inclined to work at a Walgreens for the rest of my life. Through my research I learned that, as a pharmacologist I can work in numerous industries. For example, companies like P&G employ pharmacologists to ensure that their products are safe for consumers and to, hopefully, lessen the number of lawsuits that they are assailed with each year.

They are responsible for monitoring vital signs and even giving other types of pain treatment, while the patient is unconscious. Did you know that?
One form of Medicinal Chemistry might work at the National Institute of Health to formulate drugs that can be used to treat people with very rare diseases. This requires some undergraduate courses in analytical and organic chemistry. Hospitals and research facilities all over the world hire thousands of chemists to research drugs. This form of chemistry is rather significant, because it helps to make the world better by helping unfortunate individuals.
