Students will participate in a fitness based program designed to inform and expose them to principles fo fitness that may improve hteir overall well-being. The 4 fitness components-cardio-respiratory endurance, flexibility, muscular strength and endurance are woven throughout the course. A personal fitness plan is the culminating project for this course.
9th Grade Physical Education is a great avenue to “exercise” physically and socially. Positive peer interaction is necessary part of this course. The course is not designed to create an athlete, but rather to build a better understanding and appreciation for physical activity as an integral part of our total well-being. The importance of lifetime fitness is taught and stressed.
