Parenting and Child Development addresses the practical problems related to understanding the types and stages of human growth and development. Topics covered include: heredity and environment on human growth and development, meeting the needs of exceptional children, parenting styles, family relationships, careers in child development and promoting optimal growth and development in infancy, toddler, preschool, middle childhood, adolescent and adulthood stages. Students will also use knowledge gained from the course and application skills to plan, organize and run a preschool program in May.
