Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year!
My name is Beth Bloom, and I am your student's (or your) teacher this year. I am beyond excited to begin my fourth year teaching at Highlands High School!
I am a proud alumna of Kent State University in Northeast Ohio with a degree in Integrated Language Arts Education. In May 2013, I graduated with my M.Ed in Educational Administration and Leadership from Xavier University. My previous years were spent teaching high school English and Journalism on the eastern side of Cincinnati and seventh grade at Campbell County Middle School.
When I am not at school, a person can usually find me doing one of my two FAVORITE activities: running or reading. I have run two half marathons in the last year, and I am hoping to run my third in the spring! If you need any book suggestions, let me know!
Also, I also enjoy traveling very much. Destinations in the past few years have included Ireland, Israel, Asheville, NC; and Destin, Florida. My 5-year-old Dachshund, Scout, is also very special to me as well. My dog's name comes from one of my favorite novels... HINT: It also contains a character named Boo Radley.
I cannot say this enough - Parent communication is very important to our students' success. Please DO NOT hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.
