Whitney McKay is a guidance counselor at Robert D. Johnson Elementary School. She provides classroom guidance lessons to all children, implements small group counseling and manages an individual caseload, as needed. She also implements Johnson's Character Program and oversees the Watch D.O.G.S. program at Johnson.
Whitney graduated with honors from Northwestern University in 1990. She then received an MFA in Theater from UCLA in 1995. After working with EBD students in Los Angeles, she moved to Colorado and received her MSW from Colorado State University in 2000. Prior to coming to Fort Thomas Independent Schools, she worked for eight years as a certified school social worker in the Kenton County School District.
Whitney co-leads the Big Buddy/Little Buddy Mentoring Program with Elise Carter at Highlands High School. She also supervises the district-wide, after school club, She Became.
