104 Highlands High School Students Named Advanced Placement (AP) Scholars

(August 26, 2011) More than 100 Highlands High School students were recognized by the College Board for their exceptional achievement on AP courses and exams. The College Board recognizes high school students who have distinguished themselves academically by announcing AP Scholar Award recipients. About 18 percent of the 1.8 million students worldwide who took AP Exams performed at a sufficiently high level to also earn an AP Scholar Award. The students receive a certificate and their achievement is acknowledged on any subsequent AP Grade Reports sent to colleges. Award recipients not only gain recognition from colleges but also win the admiration of their peers, families and communities. The list of Highlands’ students is below.

In fact, over 66% of our 2011 graduates left Highlands with college credit from the AP exams.”
