PRESCHOOL SCREENING SCHEDULED

Fort Thomas offers a wonderful preschool program located at Johnson Elementary.  This program is open to 3 and 4 year old children who live in the Ft. Thomas School District and meet certain requirements.  The preschool program is available at no cost to children who qualify for free lunch and are 4 by October 1, of the current school year or to children once they turn 3, who have any type of developmental delay.

To determine if your child has any type of developmental delay, a short test or screening is given in the areas of speech, language, motor, cognitive, self-help skills or behavior.  A mild delay in any of these areas may make your child eligible for free preschool.

Preschool classes are held Monday – Thursday from 8:15-11:15 or 12:00-3:00 and lunch is served during both sessions.  There are no classes on Friday to allow the staff to hold parent/teacher meetings, teacher planning and home visits.

If you are interested in our preschool program and would like your child screened for a possible delay, or if you have any questions about the program, please feel free to contact Donna Schulte, Preschool Coordinator, at 859.815.2009.

The next screening date is August 24.

Please call either 859.815.2009 or 859.815.2010 to schedule an appointment!
