Highlands Middle School PEAK
** Volunteers Needed **
Volunteers who can spend 30 minutes a week with a student working to improve reading or math skills.
We call the program PEAK. Volunteers shadow students in either Math or Reading classes as the students work independently on supplemental programs that target specific skill areas for each child. The volunteer’s main role is to provide support and encouragement to a student working to reach his/her own grade level in math or reading.
Who: Adults interested in working with a student
Where: In an HMS classroom
When: 30 minutes/week, 1st period (8 - 9 a.m.) or 4th period (11 a.m. - 12 p.m.) any day Monday – Friday (your choice)
What: Practicing math skills, or reading together
