NTI Day, Monday, February 8, 2021

Fort Thomas Schools will be on Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) for Monday, February 8, 2021.  On February 8, all students currently receiving in-person instruction will work virtually with their teachers to participate in learning that day.  Schools will be closed to in-person instruction, yet this continues to be an instructional day for all students.  Remote learning students will follow their normal schedules on this day.  We have made this decision in a proactive manner as our employees are scheduled to receive their second dosages of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine the day prior on Sunday, February 7.  While we are extremely fortunate to partner with St. Elizabeth Healthcare to receive these second doses, the District was limited in scheduling the inoculation dates.  The leadership of our district anticipates that staffing may not be sufficient for in person learning on February 8 because of the administration of these vaccines the prior day.  Research indicates that there is a small percentage of individuals that may experience mild side effects, and this may limit the number of teachers/staff we have available to supervise students and provide quality in-person instruction.  There will be NO meal pickup on Monday, February 8. All other regular activities for the day will take place as scheduled.  Thank you for the support of our efforts and for your ongoing partnership.

FREE Lunch- All School Year!

NO MEAL PICK UP on Monday, February 8, NTI day!

Upon return on January 4, our lunches for all students will be at no cost for the basic meal.  Each day each child will be able to receive one free hot lunch throughout the rest of the school year as we continue to participate in the current USDA program.  We are hopeful that this will reduce the financial burden for many during our COVID pandemic.  If students would like additional sides, drinks, entrees, or a la carte items, our normal pricing prior to NTI will be in place for the extras.  For our community and remote learners requesting lunch, you are able to pick up each school day at either Highlands Middle School or Highlands High School from 11:30am-12:00pm.  Please report to the gym doors at either building to pick up your child's lunch during these designated times.
