Ms. McGaughey has led teams at Woodland Middle School and Camp Ernst Middle School, and brings a passion for the sport that has been cultivated over the past two decades.

"Cheerleading has been an important part of my life for over 20 years.  I cannot wait to begin working with the athletes to spread a sense of community that is grounded in tradition," McGaughey said.  "This is going to be a great year.  Go Bluebirds!"

McGaughey teaches 3rd grade at an elementary school in Ludlow, and holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Northern Kentucky University.  She expects to complete her Rank 1 (Education Specialist Degree) from University of the Cumberlands in June of 2021.

Athletic Director, Wes Caldwell, noted her experience and enthusiasm in interviews throughout the process.

"Alexandria stood out from a host of qualified candidates due to her extreme positivity and forward thinking," he said. "There's no doubt that will carry over to her team and we're excited to welcome her to the nest."

Welcome, Alex!  We look forward to a lot of great accomplishments under your leadership.
