Fort Thomas, Kentucky, is a place where hard work reaps rewards and recognition, where teaching is more than a profession – it’s a passion.
Commitment to Teaching
Fort Thomas hires outstanding educators who have a passion for sharing what they’ve learned with others while at the same time fostering a natural curiosity in their students. These unique individuals oversee extracurricular activities such as band, basketball, theater, etc. The district’s goal is to provide teachers with an environment that provides them with programs that enhance their careers. Professional development is an on-going process in the Fort Thomas Independent Schools.
After new teachers complete the Kentucky Teacher Internship Program, the district supplements their development by providing two additional years of support through its Educational Study Seminar program. The district encourages and supports teacher participation in state and national seminars, workshops and conferences.
Fort Thomas provides flexible professional development. Administration works with the staff to ensure teachers are able to take continuing education as they need it.
