The FTIS Technology Department is composed of the Director of Technology and Information, two computer technicians, and one network administrator. The department supports over 4000 devices across 5 different schools.
The FTIS Technology Department receives additional support from the district's two Digital Learning Coaches and the Library Media Specialist at each school. Along with the advisors of the Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP) at each school, this group serves as the FTIS Technology Committee. This committee is responsible for overseeing the use and improvements of the district's technology resources.

Fort Thomas Independent Schools received information from the Kentucky Department of Education in November 2024 regarding a sophisticated phishing scheme that led to multiple compromised user accounts across the Commonwealth.
The provided information led to an internal investigation that revealed one FTIS user account had been compromised as part of that specific scheme. A thorough examination of the user account has now identified all the users who may have had Personally Identifiable Information (PII) or health data compromised. The district is currently in the process of sending direct notifications to those specific individuals.
