Fort Thomas Independent Schools primarily provides transportation, to and from school, for special needs students and elementary students required to attend a school outside of their home district to access necessary programming.
To request student transportation for field trips please complete the Field Trip Request Form and follow the Field Trip Flow Chart. Both documents can be found in the documents column. Please complete and submit these documents at least three weeks in advance.
If you would like to be approved to drive one of the District vans or rental vehicles, please complete the Van Driver documents, found under the documents column, and turn in all necessary paperwork to Jon Stratton, Director of Transportation, at Central Office. This process generally takes about one month. Each of the District vans and rental vehicles are capped at 8 individuals, including the driver.
The District has several approved common carriers, in addition to our four District buses, whose availability can be found under Transportation Options in the documents column.
