Drew Franklin and Ryan Lemond interviewed Bluebirds junior Tayden Lorenzen, the son of Jared Lorenzen, and Mr. Lemond had quite a fitting observation as he began their discussion.
"The sun's out in Fort Thomas on this 𝟐𝟐𝐧𝐝 day of September."
We sincerely appreciate KSR including us in the on-site broadcasting lineup!

What a day of hands-on learning for our students and we so appreciate the connectivity between our school and community partners that makes it all possible.
This is Fort Thomas!

Flynn Cook, a Gatton Academy student, has been named a semifinalist in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program. Flynn, a Highlands High School student dually enrolled in the Gatton Academy in Western Kentucky, was recently notified of this tremendous honor.
The Gatton Academy is a two-year residential program on the campus of Western Kentucky University for Kentucky high school students who have demonstrated interests in pursuing advanced careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. At the end of this course of study, Gatton Academy students earn an Associate Degree of Interdisciplinary Studies and a Kentucky high school diploma.
Please join us in congratulating Flynn on this wonderful accomplishment!

We have found our home for generations at Tower Park, a state of the art venue for our Bluebirds and the surrounding region to enjoy. Thank you for the incredible vision and collaboration that made this a reality for us!

This is a great way to start a Friday in Fort Thomas!
Highlands High School seniors 𝗔𝗱𝗱𝘆𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝗶𝗳𝗲𝗿𝘁 and 𝗗𝘆𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 have been named semifinalists in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program.
Students enter the National Merit Scholarship program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®). The nationwide pool of semifinalists, representing less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors, includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state. The number of semifinalists in a state is proportional to the state’s percentage of the national total of graduating seniors.
More than 1.3 million juniors in approximately 20,000 high schools enter the National Merit Scholarship Program each year. The awards, valued at nearly $26 million, are underwritten by NMSC® with its own funds and by approximately 300 business organizations, higher education institutions, and individual donors.
In September, these high scorers are notified through their schools that they have qualified as either a commended student or as a semifinalist. More than two-thirds receive letters of commendation in recognition of their outstanding academic promise, and approximately one-third are notified that they have qualified as semifinalists. From the approximately 16,000 semifinalists, 95% are expected to attain finalist standing, and approximately half of the finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship, earning the Merit Scholar® title.
The National Merit® Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships established in 1955.
For more information about the competition, please visit NMSC’s website at www.nationalmerit.org.
Please join us in recognizing Addyson and Dylan for such fantastic achievement! Congratulations to both and best of luck the rest of the way.

The long-anticipated day has finally arrived!
Our District is very pleased to invite our community to enjoy the first-ever athletic events held at the completely re-built Tower Park Athletic Complex in Fort Thomas as the Highlands girls soccer teams host Notre Dame Academy for a tripleheader on Saturday, September 13th. The matches are scheduled to begin at 9am (Freshman), 11am (JV) and 1pm (Varsity). It’s a milestone day for our community and the exciting next step in a progression that
began in early July when our athletic programs began practicing inside the complex.
While the state-of-the-art venue is taking shape nicely and we can’t wait for our community to see the facility, please know that the festivities on September 13th represent a limited opening. We will be hosting events at Tower Park for the remainder of the season, but the full complex will not be completely open to the public and we recognize that a limited opening may present some challenges for our fans and student-athletes.
Please consider the information below:
This is a limited opening. When Highlands athletic events are not occurring, the facility is closed to all community members. The field, parking, and seating are ready to allow us to give our current student-athletes the opportunity to play in the new facility.
The Tower Park Athletic Complex remains closed to the public outside of scheduled Highlands Athletics events. The new buildings, restrooms, press box, concessions, and surrounding areas remain under construction. Even though the complex is open for games and Highlands High School athletic teams, the facility returns to an active construction zone immediately after each event. This includes the track and parking lot.
All spectators, teams, and staff must vacate the property promptly after games.
Temporary restrooms will be available. There will not be running water available during events.
Limited concessions will be sold at each game.
All patrons will enter on the left side of the new buildings. Tickets will be sold at that entrance. It will also serve as the pass gate for those with Bluebird passes and other approved passes. Tickets may be purchased online as well at https://public.eventlink.com/tickets?t=132228.
We are grateful to the entire Fort Thomas community for your patience and support as we take the next step to open a complex that will provide new opportunities for generations of Bluebirds. This is truly a project that only came to fruition through the support of the Board of Education, city leaders,
private partners, state funding, and our families. We are also thankful for our partnership with NKU for accommodating us during this construction process and appreciate everyone’s cooperation as we transition back into Tower Park. While the facility is not ready for a Grand Opening, we believe that our student-athletes deserve the opportunity to close out the 2025 soccer season on the new home pitch for the Bluebirds!

It's picture day at Johnson Elementary, and our class pets Rex, Kenny, Chrisss and Cookie took their places in front of the green screen along with our students, staff, teachers and leadership.
It's a great day to be a Jaguar!
Chrisss is not a typo, as Chrisss is Jill Booth's very friendly class snake.
Have a great Tuesday!
This is Fort Thomas.

To our Highlands High School Families,
The HHS Open House set for Tuesday, August 19th will proceed as originally scheduled at 6:00pm (Earlybird will begin at 5:45pm). At the end of the school day on August 19th, students were notified that the Open House was canceled because of maintenance concerns. But those concerns have since been corrected, and we can't wait to see our parents and guardians in our classrooms and hallways! Our apologies for any confusion and we look forward to a great event. See you soon.

We can't wait to get started on Wednesday and it's going to be a great year! See you on August 13th.

The best in the business!
Welcome back to our fabulous teachers and staff in Fort Thomas. We can't wait for a wonderful 2025-2026 academic year in our five schools.

We enjoyed a great orientation session at Nest Fest, with student mentors leading the way on campus tours and teaching our youngest high school students all about the cheers in the O Zone! Let's make sure it's nice and loud, with plenty of blue and white, all year long.
Thank you to our counseling department at Highlands for organizing such a great day for our students. We can't wait to see everyone for the first day on August 13th!

We are starting to feel those unmistakably positive back to school vibes in Fort Thomas!
Our new teachers and staff are going through their orientation on Tuesday, August 5th in the Highlands High School library, and this is a wonderful group of educators who will bring all kinds of great ideas to our schools. Please join us in extending a sincere welcome.
We're so glad you're here in Fort Thomas!

It's a beautiful evening to fly the drone over the magnificent Tower Park Athletic Complex, which will be our home for generations! What a spectacular facility for our entire region to enjoy--both participants and spectators alike. Check it out! Our teams have already begun practicing at the venue.

The completely renovated athletic complex is magnificent in every way, with a spirit of collaboration that drove every step of this vision becoming reality. Our teams have started training here, and it feels like home already!
